On Tuesday, Nitin Gadkari, Road Transport and Highways Minister stated that he had asked his department officials to find a uniform charging system that would work for all-electric buses made by different companies. Gadkari stated that electric buses manufactured by different companies have different charging systems and are causing problems for states.

Himachal Pradesh’s transport minister spoke out about the issue of charging systems for electric buses from different companies. While speaking at Mindmine Summit, he stated that he had asked his officers to find a solution. There should be one charging system for an electric bus made by different companies. Gadkari stressed the importance of encouraging mass rapid transport systems.

He stated that we must discourage people from buying more cars and should start air-conditioned trolley bus services in major cities. He predicted that Electric Vehicles would soon be at par with petrol vehicles within one to two years.
