A new survey of Delhi residents shows strong support for the proposed aggregator program. This requires a transition to electric vehicles by e-commerce and last-mile delivery companies.
The deadline to transition from Internal Combustion Engines, (ICE) to EV is set for April 30, 2030. This date applies to e-commerce, transport logistics and delivery service providers.
The survey was conducted by CMSR Consultants and commissioned by the Sustainable Mobility Network. It found that 88% of 1,508 respondents in Delhi blamed last-mile delivery vehicles for the rising levels of air pollution in their city.
The survey found that 95.2% of respondents believed that a switch by delivery companies to EVs was important to address air pollution and mitigate climate change.
Survey respondents were asked to complete a combination of on-ground interviews (70%), and online surveys (30%) in Delhi. The overwhelming majority (91%) believed that proactive action and a company’s ability to transition can help others and create rapid change.
