The authorities have ruled that no building plan will be approved in Noida unless it includes a charging station for electric vehicles. According to sources at the Noida Authority, a decision was made regarding this matter and the Building Manual 2010 was modified on May 13.
According to the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, (BEE), there are 1,742 Public Charging Stations in the country. Surat, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, and Ahmedabad are home to 940 stations. As of March 25, 2022, there are around 10,76,420 electric vehicles.
Noida resident says, “This move by Noida Authority is certain to give an impetus for electric vehicles and people will tend toward buying it more.”
The Centre also engaged private and public agencies in 360-degree efforts for public charging infrastructure improvement. To gain consumer confidence, many private organizations have offered to install EV charging stations.
To accelerate the E-Mobility transition, the Ministry of Power issued the “Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles” revised Guidelines and Standards on January 14.
2,877 public EV charging points have been approved in 68 cities under the Scheme of FAME India Phase II, Ministry of Heavy Industries.
