Saera Electric Auto Pvt Ltd (SEAPL), an electric vehicle manufacturer, has started production at its Bawal plant located in Haryana. It acquired the Bawal plant from Harley Davidson.

The Mayuri brand was the first to introduce electric rickshaws. SEAPL stated in a statement that the firm is now producing electric rickshaws and electric carts at the five-acre plant, where it has invested more than Rs 350 crore.

“Our new plant at Bawal, in addition to our existing plant at Bhiwadi in Rajasthan, will further enhance the growth of our manufacturing capacity; thereby catering to the increasing demand for greener transportation in the country,” SEAPL Managing Director Nitin Kapoor said.

He also stated that the new plant can manufacture 36,000 units of electric three-wheelers and 200,000 units of electric two-wheelers per year. The company also makes popular, low-speed electric scooters under the name ‘Yogo Bikes.

The company also formed a partnership earlier this year with LML Electric in order to produce the electric two-wheelers of LML Electric at the Bawal plant.
