
BluSmart And TATA Motors Sign Biggest Ever EV Fleet Order For 10,000 XPRES T EVs
In yet another step towards accelerating the transition to sustainable transportation, Tata Motors, on the occasion of World Environment Day, signed an agreement with BluSmart Electric Mobility for delivering 10,000 XPRES T EVs to the company. This deployment of 10,000 units makes this the biggest ever EV fleet order in India. With deliveries starting soon, these vehicles are an addition to the 3,500 XPRES T EV order, which was signed by both companies in October last year, and will be used across the country for commuters, which in turn, helps minimise the carbon footprint.
Suzuki Buys Renewable Energy From ReNew Power For Its Automobile Plants
Suzuki Motor began to purchase solar and wind power from a local renewable energy provider, ReNew Power for its Gujarat plant. This move is expected to reduce about 6% of Japan’s carbon dioxide emissions. To achieve carbon neutrality, Suzuki will increase the use of electricity from renewable energy sources at its automobile plants in India. In May 2022, Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited (SMG), an Indian subsidiary of Suzuki, became the first Suzuki Group company to procure electricity from renewable energy sources by utilizing the Off-site Corporate PPA scheme, in which SMG purchases electricity from power generation facilities installed outside SMG premises. The power generation facility, which is a hybrid of wind power and solar power (generation output: 17.6MW), was installed exclusively for SMG by ReNew Power Private Limited, a major renewable energy company in India.

Delhi Airport To Replace All Its Vehicles With Electric Vehicles In Next 4 Months
According to its operator Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), the Delhi airport decided to replace all of its vehicles with electric vehicles in the next 4 months under the Green Transportation Program. This will allow it to lower its annual greenhouse gas emissions. Inducting 62 electric vehicles at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport’s airport side, which includes a taxiway, runway, and apron will reduce around 1,000 tonnes of greenhouse gases annually. DIAL’s announcement about the Green Transportation Program is made on the sidelines of World Environment Day. In order to meet the needs of these vehicles, and other stakeholders, the airport operator announced that it would install fast-charging stations and high voltage outlets in strategic locations.

Omaxe Partners With Jio-bp To Set Up EV Charging And Swapping Infrastructure
Omaxe, India’s most renowned real estate developer, today announced its partnership with Jio-bp. Jio-bp is a joint venture between Reliance Industries Limited and bp that focuses on fuel and mobility. It will establish a charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. Jio-bp will establish EV charging and swapping infrastructure in Omaxe properties throughout Delhi, Noida and Greater Noida. This will be done in a gradual manner. Jio-bp recognizes the importance of EV charging infrastructure in commercial establishments and is currently working with real estate agents and developers. Jio-bp will provide 24*7 EV charging infrastructure to two- and four-wheelers at Omaxe properties. Jio-bp launched and constructed two of India’s most important EV charging stations last year.
BEST Invite Bids For Installing Electric Vehicle Charging Stations In Mumbai
Brihan-Mumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) invite bids to choose an operator for installing and managing the EV charging stations with the sharing infrastructure of BEST. The work involves the installation, operation and maintenance of electric vehicle charging stations (including mobile app and charger management software) in Mumbai and its suburbs. This will be done for 10 years on 55 sites. The last date for submitting bids is June 26, 2022. The bids will open on July 1. The contract must be signed within six months. Tenders have been submitted under the FAME-II scheme, which was launched in April 2019. FAME-II was originally intended to last 3 years, ending March 31, 2022. It was extended till March 2024.
Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies, Tamil Nadu To Set Up 900 EV Charging Stations Across The State
Public sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), Tamil Nadu, will set up 900 electric vehicle charging stations throughout the state, with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Indian Oil Corporation, and Bharat Petroleum Corporation leading the charge. Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), which has 133 EV charging stations in Tamil Nadu, plans to add 400 more by the end of this financial year. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation currently has 79 charging stations and will set up 175 additional EV charging stations. Bharat Petroleum Corp (BPCL), will install 145 additional EV charging stations before the end of this financial calendar year. The officials from the Oil Marketing Corporation said that they plan to increase demand for electric cars as more EV charging stations will increase the number of EV users.
