TPDDL Installs 1400 EV Charging Stations In Delhi

The Tata Power Delhi Distribution (TPDDL) has installed around 1400 charging in Delhi and its neighbouring towns to boost the adoption of electric vehicles.

TPDDL is will also install 50 EV chargers with the North Delhi Municipal Corporation at marketplaces and parking slots in the next four months.

TPDDL, Chief Executive Officer, Ganesh Srinivasan, said, ”We have already installed around 50 EV public chargers (9 in TPDDL area of operations) and 1,400 home chargers in NCR. We are also looking to identify 50 top resident welfare associations(RWAs) in our licensed area for installing 2-3 two charging stations per RWA.” 

The North and Northwest discom has been working for public and private electric vehicle charging infrastructure. For public electric vehicle charging, TPDDL has offered its land on lease for the deployment of battery swap stations and chargers.

”Two battery swap stations at TPDDL Azadpur and Rohini RG-3 Grid have been deployed in collaboration with SUN Mobility in the land lease model,” the TPDDL CEO said.

TPDDL installs EV chargers on private and public land is working on an operating expenses model. Most EV charging infrastructure provides charging services for all EVs, only charging configuration is different. EVs accounted for 9% of the total vehicle sales in the city during the September-November period.
