No country in the world has a higher density of electric cars than Norway. The Norwegian company Easee, the national market leader, is now also gaining new market shares in Europe. Easee recently received the prestigious Red Dot Award for the design of its pioneering electric car charger, Charging Robot.

“In just three years, we’ve grown from a startup to a global brand that aims to expand into 20 countries by 2021 and sell more than half a million chargers. We are seeing strong demand, both nationally and in international markets. “Tweet this

The company is currently represented in the UK, the Netherlands and Germany – three regions where the electric car fleet is growing rapidly. The goal is to expand to 20 countries during 2021. The company’s rapid growth in Norway and Northern Europe is due to a sharp increase in sales of electric cars and the development of intelligent chargers that charge safely, efficiently and quickly.

Martin Langeland, Marketing Manager at Easee, sees his company well positioned for growth in several European regions.

“In just three years, we’ve grown from a startup to a global brand that aims to expand into 20 countries by 2021 and sell more than half a million chargers. We are seeing strong demand, both nationally and in international markets. “

The world’s most intelligent charger for electric cars

In 2018, Easee was founded by three entrepreneurs with the vision of developing an electric car charger for the future. The first step in development was the Charging Robot charger, which is 69% smaller in size than other chargers and offers comparable functionality and performance. With a weight of only 1.5 kg, the charger contributes to a significant reduction in the environmental impact during production, as less copper and plastic are required. The company also owes its market-leading position in Norway to the charging robot.

“The charging robot is able to adapt to the car for which it is used. Therefore it is not necessary to pay attention to technical specifications. The charger automatically detects what power the car needs and can charge several cars with different requirements at the same time. This saves the user the time it takes to spend on operating instructions and setup. And that is exactly what we mean by good design: the simplification of complex challenges through a timeless design that is accessible to everyone, ”says Langeland.

Award winning design

The company won the DOGA Award for Design and Architecture in 2021. The award recognizes outstanding achievements by Norwegian companies in the application of design and architecture. Easee also received the prestigious Red Dot Award, an internationally renowned award for exquisite design given by the Design Center North Rhine-Westphalia. The award has been advertised annually since 1955.

In addition to the design and the high level of user-friendliness, Easee has committed itself to developing environmentally friendly chargers.

“When developing the Charging Robot, we wanted to achieve environmentally friendly solutions and a seamless user experience. The minimized use of plastic and copper and the automatic adaptation of the charging robot to all electric vehicles make the charger both efficient and environmentally friendly. This creates trust among consumers, who prefer short charging times and the least possible environmental impact during production, ”adds Langeland.
