Micelio which is a Bengaluru-based electric vehicle startup is planning to launch an electric two-wheeler focusing on the last-mile delivery market in India. This was told by the Founder & Director Shreyas Shibulal to ETEnergyworld.The company plans to introduce an electric vehicle that is built solely for the purpose of last-mile delivery.
Mr. Shreyas Shibulal said -“We want to build a purpose-built two-wheeler essentially for last-mile logistics. We believe this has not really been done in India so far. Nine of the other vehicles in the market have been purpose-built for last-mile logistics use cases because all of them are commuter vehicles.”
The company has its presence currently in three cities – Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai – and has four business verticals including Micelio Fund, Micelio Discovery Studio, Lighting Logistics and Product Company.
He mentioned that the ongoing pandemic had initially caused hindrance in the supply chain as components are to be imported from China. He added that the disruption was a blessing in disguise as it has led to a more diversified supply chain now.
