JSW MG Motor India reported wholesale sales of 6,048 vehicles in May 2026, demonstrating resilience amid ongoing global supply chain disruptions, rising commodity costs, and increasing freight rates.
The automaker maintained steady dispatches despite challenging market conditions, supported by its manufacturing capabilities and growing product portfolio. A key highlight during the month was the launch of the MG Majestor, positioned as India’s first D+ segment SUV.
The newly introduced flagship SUV entered the market with two variants. The Majestor 4×2 Automatic Top Trim, available in both six- and seven-seater configurations, is priced at ₹40.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Majestor 4×4 Automatic Top Trim seven-seater variant is priced at ₹44.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The company also confirmed that dealer dispatches of the new model commenced during May.
JSW MG Motor India stated that it continues to focus on building a smart and sustainable automotive ecosystem through advanced technologies and localized manufacturing. Formed in 2023 as a joint venture between global automotive giant SAIC Motor and India’s JSW Group, the company aims to expand access to innovative mobility solutions for Indian consumers.
The company operates a manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat, with an annual production capacity exceeding 100,000 vehicles and supports approximately 6,000 direct and indirect jobs. It has also played a pioneering role in introducing several segment-first products to the Indian market, including the MG Hector, India’s first Internet SUV; the MG ZS EV, India’s first pure electric Internet SUV; and the MG Gloster, one of the country’s earliest autonomous Level 1 premium SUVs.
MG has further strengthened its position in the electric vehicle segment with products such as the MG Comet EV and the MG Windsor EV, while continuing to develop connected and intelligent mobility solutions aligned with its CASE vision—Connected, Autonomous, Shared, and Electric mobility.
Originally founded in the United Kingdom in 1924, Morris Garages (MG) has evolved from a celebrated sports car manufacturer into a global automotive brand focused on innovation and future-ready mobility. The brand remains popular among automotive enthusiasts worldwide and continues to expand its footprint through technology-driven products.
With the launch of the Majestor and stable sales performance despite external challenges, JSW MG Motor India appears focused on strengthening its premium SUV portfolio while advancing its long-term growth strategy in one of the world’s fastest-growing automotive markets.
