India’s electric mobility industry is entering a critical phase where infrastructure limitations are emerging as one of the biggest hurdles to mass EV adoption. While much of the sector remains focused on vehicle design, battery range, and charging speed, emerging startup SunCharge Motors is approaching the challenge from a different angle — energy dependency itself.

The company has announced the successful closure of its seed funding round led by JITO Incubation & Innovation Foundation (JIIF), along with participation from a group of strategic angel investors. Although the company has not disclosed the amount raised, the funding will be used for technology development, infrastructure research, and scaling its solar-assisted electric mobility systems.

Founded by Sanskar Modi, SunCharge Motors is developing solar-integrated EV solutions designed to reduce reliance on traditional charging infrastructure. The startup’s technology combines smart battery management systems, real-time energy control technologies, and integrated solar support aimed at creating mobility solutions tailored to India’s infrastructure challenges.

The development comes at a time when India’s EV ecosystem continues to struggle with issues such as limited charging accessibility, inconsistent power supply, fleet downtime, and the scalability of rural electric mobility. Rather than viewing these as secondary concerns, SunCharge Motors has built its business strategy around solving them directly.

“We believe India’s EV future cannot depend only on expanding charging infrastructure. The real opportunity lies in building smarter energy-integrated mobility systems that can adapt to India’s infrastructure realities. At SunCharge Motors, our focus is on creating solutions that improve energy accessibility, reduce charging dependency, and make electric mobility more practical and scalable for the long term,” said Sanskar Modi, Founder of SunCharge Motors.

Unlike several EV startups focusing primarily on consumer-driven vehicle offerings, SunCharge Motors is positioning itself as a mobility-energy company. Its long-term vision includes improving vehicle uptime, minimizing charging dependency, and enabling decentralized and sustainable mobility operations across both urban and underserved regions.

As India accelerates its transition towards electric transportation, the company believes the next phase of EV innovation will not be defined solely by vehicles, but by how intelligently energy is integrated into mobility systems.
