Musashi India Pvt. Ltd. has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Kinetic Green Energy & Power Solutions Limited to supply integrated electric powertrain systems for Kinetic Green’s upcoming electric two-wheeler platforms, strengthening their commitment to India’s growing electric mobility sector.
Under the partnership, Musashi India will provide a side-mounted e-Axle system that integrates the motor, gearbox, and controller into a compact single-unit powertrain solution. The technology will be used in Kinetic Green’s next-generation electric scooters and motorcycles.
Pilot batch supplies are expected to begin in December 2026, followed by full-scale production at Musashi Delta e-Axle India’s manufacturing facility in Bengaluru.
The powertrain system features a 4.7kW Interior Permanent Magnet (IPM) motor combined with a gearbox in a side-mounted e-Axle configuration. According to the companies, the design aims to deliver improved performance, higher energy efficiency, enhanced durability, and lower maintenance requirements compared to conventional center-mounted and hub-mounted drive systems.
Musashi said the compact integrated design could also help optimize battery costs by enabling smaller battery sizes while maintaining driving range. Additionally, the side-mounted configuration creates more luggage space for riders.
Naoya Nishimura, CEO of Musashi India & Africa region, described the agreement as a major milestone in supporting India’s shift toward electric mobility.
“Our integrated powertrain solution reflects Musashi’s focus on innovation, efficiency, and reliability,” Nishimura said, adding that the company looks forward to a long-term collaboration with Kinetic Green.
Dr. Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Founder and CEO of Kinetic Green, said the partnership aligns with the company’s vision for intelligent and sustainable transportation.
“Through this collaboration, we are making world-class powertrain technology accessible to the everyday Indian consumer — without compromise on performance, reliability, or value,” she said.
The collaboration is expected to evolve into a broader strategic partnership, with Kinetic Green planning to adopt Musashi’s future-generation technologies for upcoming vehicle platforms.
Musashi Seimitsu Industry, founded in 1938, is a global mobility technology manufacturer operating across 14 countries. In addition to automotive components, the company is expanding into sectors such as energy solutions, smart manufacturing, electric mobility, and AI-related infrastructure technologies.
The agreement reflects increasing collaboration between automotive technology firms and electric vehicle manufacturers as India accelerates its transition toward sustainable transportation and cleaner mobility solutions.
