Olectra Greentech Limited has partnered with Dassault Systèmes to adopt the advanced 3DEXPERIENCE platform, marking a major push toward digitally integrated electric vehicle development in India.

The collaboration aims to strengthen Olectra’s engineering and product development capabilities by integrating design, simulation, manufacturing, and lifecycle management into a unified digital ecosystem. The move aligns with global automotive standards and reflects the growing shift toward platform-based engineering in the electric mobility sector.

Under the agreement, Olectra will implement a fully digital, model-based product development approach to streamline collaboration across engineering teams, manufacturing units, and ecosystem partners. The platform will also enable virtual simulation and validation before physical prototyping, helping reduce development timelines and improve efficiency.

Company officials said the adoption of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform is expected to accelerate innovation cycles, reduce time-to-market for new vehicles, and improve scalability for future mobility platforms, including electric buses and trucks.

Mahesh Babu said the partnership reflects Olectra’s commitment to combining electrification with digital engineering to shape the future of mobility in India.

He noted that the company is investing heavily in developing next-generation bus and truck platforms and believes the collaboration with Dassault Systèmes will help build products that meet global benchmarks in quality, precision, and engineering standards.

Deepak NG said the future of mobility will increasingly be engineered in virtual environments before vehicles reach the road. He added that the collaboration would support faster, smarter, and more sustainable EV development through virtual twin experiences and advanced engineering practices.

Industry experts view the partnership as part of a broader transformation in automotive manufacturing, where companies are moving away from traditional component-based development toward digitally connected engineering ecosystems.

The collaboration is also expected to strengthen India’s growing EV ecosystem by enabling advanced engineering practices and improving the scalability of electric mobility solutions.

With the 3DEXPERIENCE platform becoming central to its engineering operations, Olectra aims to enhance innovation capabilities and set new standards for electric vehicle design and development in the country.
