Hyundai Motor Europe has officially introduced the all-electric IONIQ 3, a compact hatchback designed to make electric mobility more practical, intuitive, and accessible for everyday users across Europe.

Positioned as the newest addition to Hyundai’s growing IONIQ lineup, the IONIQ 3 debuts a new “Aero Hatch” design typology that blends aerodynamic efficiency with enhanced interior space. The vehicle features a sleek, low-profile front that transitions into a streamlined roofline, optimizing airflow while maximizing headroom and comfort, particularly for rear passengers.

Built on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the IONIQ 3 adopts a 400-volt architecture aimed at delivering balanced performance and efficiency. The model will be offered with two battery options—42.2 kWh (standard range) and 61 kWh (long range)—delivering a projected WLTP driving range of 344 km and up to 496 km, respectively. Fast charging capabilities allow the battery to be charged from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 29 minutes under optimal conditions.

In terms of performance, the front-wheel-drive EV produces up to 107.8 kW (147 PS) and 250 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 170 km/h. Hyundai is targeting a segment-leading drag coefficient of 0.263, reinforcing the model’s focus on efficiency.

Inside, the IONIQ 3 emphasizes comfort and practicality with a “Furnished Space” interior layout, offering a flat-floor design, ample legroom, and seating for five adults. The model provides a luggage capacity of 441 litres, including an innovative “Megabox” storage solution beneath the trunk floor.

A major highlight is the debut of Hyundai’s Pleos Connect infotainment system in Europe, based on Android Automotive OS. Available with up to a 14.6-inch display, the system offers enhanced connectivity, intuitive controls, and customization options. Features such as Digital Key 2, Plug & Charge, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality further enhance usability.

Safety remains a key focus, with Hyundai equipping the IONIQ 3 with its SmartSense suite of advanced driver assistance systems. These include Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA2), Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA), Blind-Spot View Monitor, and multiple airbags to improve driver confidence and passenger protection.

Designed in Europe and manufactured at Hyundai’s İzmit plant in Türkiye, the IONIQ 3 underscores the company’s commitment to localized EV development. With its combination of design, technology, and practicality, Hyundai aims to position the IONIQ 3 as a compelling option in the compact electric vehicle segment.
