Bijliride, India’s leading EV rental and mobility-tech startup, has launched a transformative Women’s Day initiative aimed at encouraging women to take up mobility-based work roles and achieve economic independence.

In partnership with the Telangana Women Safety Wing (TWSW), Government of Telangana, the company rolled out a dedicated programme in early February to train and support women in driving-based professions. The initiative has already enabled more than 500 women across Hyderabad to explore livelihood opportunities such as two-wheeler taxi services and electric auto driving.

Under the programme, participants received structured training and end-to-end support, including community outreach, skill development, licensing assistance, and professional onboarding. The initiative is designed to help women unlock new income opportunities and actively participate in the city’s growing electric mobility ecosystem.

Bijliride said the collaboration aligns with TWSW’s mandate to promote women’s safety, dignity, and empowerment while encouraging greater female participation in Telangana’s urban mobility sector. The programme was implemented across key regions of Hyderabad and aims to foster safer, inclusive, and sustainable public transport options.

Commenting on the initiative, Vishal Vikram, Chief Marketing Officer at Bijliride, said, “At Bijliride, we believe mobility can be a powerful driver of social and economic change. Encouraging women to take confident steps towards financial independence through this programme is especially meaningful as we mark Women’s Day. Our collaboration with the Telangana Women Safety Wing brings together safety, sustainability, and empowerment in a tangible way, and we are committed to scaling this impact further.”

The partnership has been structured as a non-financial, outcome-driven engagement, with both organisations contributing expertise and operational resources. By combining institutional support from TWSW with Bijliride’s electric mobility infrastructure, the initiative aims to create long-term, scalable opportunities for women in the mobility sector across Telangana.
