Following the introduction of autorickshaws, Namma Yatri, the ride-booking app, has now initiated its cab services in Bengaluru. It offers both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned cab options to its customers.

Karnataka Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy inaugurated the services, expressing pride in Namma Yatri’s milestone achievement as Karnataka’s indigenous app. He commended the app’s community-focused approach and pioneering efforts in driver welfare.

According to a statement from the ride-booking app, Namma Yatri operates within the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) network, reflecting its commitment to transparency and community engagement. The app provides 100% open data and open-source code.

Furthermore, Namma Yatri stands out as the first app to adopt the latest pricing guidelines established by the Karnataka Government. This dedication ensures fair pricing practices, eliminating unjustified surge pricing during peak hours, benefiting both customers and drivers.

In the near future, the app plans to introduce inter-city services, rentals, scheduled rides, and expand its operations across Karnataka. Additionally, it will cater to special requests such as disability-friendly rides, extra luggage, transportation of pets, and trips to public transport hubs.

With a current pool of 25,000 cab drivers, Namma Yatri aims to onboard over 100,000 drivers within the next six months.
