Kia India made headlines after unveiling the purpose-built Carens vehicles at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, and subsequently, announced the delivery of 71 customized Carens units to the Punjab Police. These vehicles, tailored as Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs), are set to provide swift aid during emergencies, addressing the diverse mobility needs of specialized institutions in India.

The decision to opt for Carens by the Punjab Police stemmed from its advanced technology, connected features, spacious interior, and enhanced comfort in the third row. Equipped with a Smartstream 1.5 Petrol engine and a 6-speed Manual transmission, the customized Carens features specialized additions such as High-Intensity Strobe lights, PA Systems, and ‘Dial 112 – Emergency Response Vehicle’ Decals. A higher capacity battery of 60Ah powers the additional equipment.

The Carens’ extensive wheelbase and practical design, including split folding seats, adjustable headrests, and multiple USB Type-C Ports, make it an optimal choice for the Punjab Police. Maintaining safety standards, the PBVs boast a High Strength Steel structure and incorporate advanced technologies like All Wheel Disc Brakes, ABS, Idle Stop & Go, and TPMS.
