In November 2023, the total production of passenger vehicles, three-wheelers, two-wheelers, and quadricycles reached 2,228,743 units, as reported by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). The domestic market saw a 3.7% growth in passenger vehicle sales, totalling 334,130 units during the month. Three-wheeler sales reached 59,738 units, and two-wheelers recorded 1,623,399 units, according to SIAM.

Data for BMW, Mercedes, JLR, Tata Motors, and Volvo Auto are not available. Tata Motors’ data includes only domestic sales, as per SIAM.
Vinod Aggarwal, President of SIAM, highlighted the robust growth across all automobile segments during the festival season, with moderate growth in passenger vehicles and high double-digit growth in two-wheelers and three-wheelers. He expressed optimism for the industry to end the year on a positive note, expecting the trend to continue into 2024.
Rajesh Menon, Director General of SIAM, noted that November 2023 marked the highest-ever sales for passenger vehicles, reaching 334,130 units, despite a 3.7% growth rate compared to the high base of the previous November. Three-wheelers experienced significant growth of 30.8%, nearly reaching the peak of November 2017, with sales of around 60,000 units. Two-wheelers also achieved high sales of approximately 1.62 million units, showing a growth rate of 31.3% compared to November 2022 and coming close to the peak of November 2018.
