Piaggio Celebrates Milestone: 26,000 Electric Three-Wheelers Sold In India

Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of automaker of Italy, Piaggio & C. SpA, has achieved substantial sales of approximately 26,000 units of its electric three-wheelers since their introduction in 2019. This marks significant growth from the 12,000 units sold in the previous year, according to Amit Sagar, the company’s Executive Vice President of Commercial Vehicles.

The company has now launched its first electric passenger three-wheeler, the Ape E-city FX NE Max, in Tamil Nadu, priced at Rs 3.46 lakh. This passenger vehicle complements the existing range of cargo vehicles.

Amit Sagar emphasized that this launch represents not only a new product but also a shift in mindset and a novel approach to commuting. The Ape E-city FX NE Max offers an impressive driving range of 145 kilometers on a single charge and boasts a running cost of just 0.50 paise per kilometer.

Sagar mentioned that Piaggio Vehicles has sold around 26,000 units across India, with 12,000 units sold last year. Following the launch, the company has established an extensive network of 11 dealerships across Tamil Nadu.

The Ape E-city FX NE Max is designed to meet the evolving needs of customers, providing an environmentally friendly mode of transportation while enhancing the overall travel experience.
