The Refex Group, based in the city and engaged in various industries, has expanded its Green Mobility division. Refex Group Managing Director Anil Jain announced that after launching Refex Green Mobility Ltd in Bengaluru in March of this year, they have now entered the Tamil Nadu market.
Currently, the company operates 497 electric vehicles and serves nine clients, including one in Chennai, while discussions with 30 additional customers are ongoing within the Green Mobility sector. Jain explained that their focus is on providing transportation services to corporate clients for their employees, using battery-operated vehicles instead of traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
“We operate as a business-to-business employee transportation company. Our aim is to serve corporate clients throughout India. We initiated our services in Bengaluru in March and have now expanded to Chennai,” he explained.
As part of its expansion into Chennai, the company introduced 71 vehicles, which were officially inaugurated by the Deputy Mayor of the Greater Chennai Corporation, M Magesh Kumaar. Jain stated that their goal is to have around 2,000 electric vehicles by the end of March and to reach 10,000 electric vehicles within three years.
In addition to enhancing the Refex Group’s ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) footprint, the Green Mobility business is aimed at helping corporate clients reduce their carbon emissions. Jain also noted that the company has relocated its corporate office to Chennai, occupying its own property in Thyagaraya Nagar, spanning 15,300 square feet.
