Interested buyers can reserve the scooter by paying a fully refundable token amount of Rs 2500. Set at a competitive price of Rs 1.29 lakhs (ex-showroom), the Ather 450S is ready to take on its direct competitor, Ola Electric’s highly-anticipated S1 Air scooter.
Scheduled for an official launch on August 3, the Ather 450S boasts impressive specifications, outperforming traditional 125 cc petrol scooters dominating the market.
It comes with a powerful 3 kWh battery pack, providing a substantial range of 115 km on a single charge and reaching a top speed of 90 kmph, ideal for urban commuting.
Driven by a robust 6.4 kW electric motor generating 8.58 bhp power and 26 Nm peak torque, the Ather 450S shares a resemblance with its sibling, the Ather 450X, featuring subtle yet captivating cosmetic updates.
Positioned against worthy rivals like the Ola S1, TVS iQube, and Ampere Primus, the Ather 450S is a formidable contender in the electric scooter market, targeting customers considering 125 cc ICE-powered scooters with an eco-friendly alternative.
Meanwhile, Ola Electric’s Ola S1 Air witnessed an astounding response, with over 3,000 units booked within the first few hours after surprise early bookings were opened. Priced at Rs 1.09 lakh (ex-showroom) for early birds, later customers will need to pay an additional Rs 10,000.
