Bengaluru’s Large and Medium Industries Minister, M B Patil, announced that Taiwanese companies have shown interest in partnering with the state of Karnataka to convert diesel-powered buses of the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) into electric vehicles.
Patil stated that such a collaboration would contribute to sustainability, and the Industries department will facilitate further discussions with the transport department regarding this initiative.
He emphasized that Taiwanese companies possess the necessary expertise to convert diesel vehicles into electric ones, emphasizing the importance of this technology in the current context.
Additionally, Taiwanese companies have expressed interest in collaborating with Karnataka in various sectors, including machine tools and manufacturing, Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM), automotive and auto components, clean energy production, and aerospace.
The meeting, attended by over 50 Taiwanese investors, was organized by the Taiwan India Business Association (TIBA) and involved a visual presentation on the state’s industrial ecosystem, as well as the government’s support and incentives provided to businesses.
