Statiq, a provider of electric vehicle charging services, has announced that it was awarded a tender from Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL), to install more than 500 chargers in 12 states.
The EV chargers are being installed in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and West Bengal.
Over 400 chargers will have 3.3 KW of power each. A few hundred chargers will have a 7.7 KW each. The company stated in a statement that all types of EVs, including four-wheelers, three-wheelers, and two-wheelers can use these EV chargers.
“Using these chargers at the petrol pumps, EV owners would be able to access quick and easy charging options. They would have similar user experiences with their electric vehicles as they had with petrol or diesel cars,” Aman Rehman from Statiq’s Head of Government Relations said.
Statiq installed almost 200 chargers last year – 130 chargers with 3.3 KW and 75 chargers with 7.7 KW capacities – at HPCL outlets in many towns including Gorakhpur, Dehradun, Kanpur, Patna, Agra, Meerut, Varanasi, and Lucknow.
