Ather Energy, a maker of electric two-wheelers, announced that it will install more than 2,500 electric vehicle charging stations before the end of this year to make it easier to transition to EVs. Over 1,000 charging stations have been installed in 80 cities across the country by Ather Energy.

According to a statement from Bengaluru-based Ather Grid, 60% of the current installations are in Tier-II or Tier-III cities.

Strong charging infrastructure is a key driver in the rapid adoption of EVs. Ravneet Phokela, the chief business officer at Ather Energy, stated that the brand is focused on creating a vibrant EV ecosystem.

He said that the company is increasing its scale-up and adding Neighbourhood Chargement – a charging solution that focuses on semi-private spaces like apartment blocks, offices, tech parks, etc.

Phokela stated that “We remain committed to investing strategically in the space, and supporting the growth industry.”

Hero MotoCorp-backed Ather saw its highest-ever monthly sales with 12,419 units delivered in January.
