
Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema stated that the Punjab Cabinet, under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann approved new policies for electric vehicles and industrial.
Cheema spoke to the media and stated that both the Punjab Electric Vehicle Policy and Industrial Policy were approved by the cabinet.
Both policies were approved days before an investor summit, which will be held by the state government in Mohali on February 23-24.
Arora stated that Electric Vehicles are the future and that incentives have been announced by the government for people who switch to electric vehicles as part of the vehicle scrapping program.
He said that charging stations will be also installed in large numbers throughout the state.
The policy desires to reduce vehicular emissions, create infrastructure, Manufacturing, Research and Development, Job creation, ensuring sustainability, and establishing Punjab as a favored destination for manufacturing of electric vehicles, components, and batteries.
