Battrixx, India’s leading EV battery manufacturer, announced that it has been granted ARAI certification under AIS 156 Amendment III Phase 2 for its batteries used in electric vehicles. Battrixx is now one of the first EV Battery Manufacturers that has achieved Phase 2 certification. This certification comes well ahead of the 31 March 2023 deadline, which was set by the Government of India.
After completing the in-house testing required for this phase, the company stated that the battery packs are ready for AIS Amendment III Phase 2 certification in the month of November. Because of its continued efforts in R&D as well as testing, the batteries received certification ahead of schedule. Battrixx has been working hard to keep its position as a leader in this sector for the past year and a half.
Kabra Extrusiontechnik Ltd’s Vice-Chairman & MD, Anand Kabra, stated that “AIS 156 Amendment III was announced in August 2022. It requires thermal propagation control and early warning systems. Smart BMS, data storage. Battrixx had been working with its R&D department since the last year to make safe packs. We were able to implement the AIS Amendment well ahead of the target due to our head-start initiative.”
Battrixx received AIS 156 Phase II Certificates from Battrixx for its 60-volt, 48-volt, and 6 additional batteries. Battrixx is now able to offer these batteries to its customers and potential customers far ahead of its competitors. Battrixx also has the IATF 16949 certification.

Battrixx also established a manufacturing facility within the last 3 months to manufacture batteries in accordance with AIS Amendment III Phase 2 requirements. They are now ready to begin mass production immediately.
