Kia India plans to bring more EV6 units to India to meet the demand for bookings, the automaker stated on Thursday. According to the company, 200 units of the EV6 have been delivered to its customers.

According to the South Korean automaker, this number is already double the originally planned 100 units for the whole year.

It stated that the company plans to increase its total allocation of EV6 by 2022 and finish most of the pending delivery within the year. The company launched EV6 in June of this year and delivered the first orders to customers last month.

“Amidst the positive response to EV6, we promised our customers that more units of the EV6 would be brought in, over and beyond the 100 units initially allocated for 2022. “We will continue to focus on the delivery of all existing and new orders at the earliest possible,” Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales Officer in India, stated.

The EV6 was built on Kia’s dedicated electric vehicle platform, the Electric-Global Modular Platform marking the beginning of Kia’s journey into the EV market in the country.

This car is certified by the ARAI and has a range of 708 km on a single charge. Kia plans to launch an India-centric electric vehicle as part of its EV roadmap.
