
In its efforts to attain Airport Carbon Accreditation Level 4+ status and net-zero status, the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport has purchased 4 electric vehicles.
According to the official statement, the vehicles will be used for routine work by engineers and maintenance as well as the landside operations team.
It stated that electric vehicles will reduce the airport’s carbon emissions and help to lower its carbon footprint. This ‘Gateway To Goodness’ plan aims to make all fossil fuel-driven vehicles electric by March 2025.
According to the statement, plans are underway for charging stations for EVs to be installed in the area.
