HOP Electric Gets The ARAI Certificate Of HOP OXO E-Bike

HOP Electric’s soon-to-be-launched electric motorcycle, HOP OXO, has been certified by ARAI, the Automotive Research Association of India. HOP Electric stated that the company’s flagship electric bike, OXO passed all tests by the ARAI. This includes AIS 156 battery testing. 

HOP Electric’s success in fulfilling the Government of India’s Production Linked Incentive scheme (PLI), has resulted in the ARAI certification. HOP Electric will invest more than Rs. 2,000 crore in India over the next five years under this mandate.

Ketan Mehta, CEO and Co-Founder, of HOP Electric, said, “Having been awarded the ARAI certification and mandate of GoI’s PLI Scheme is an extremely gratifying feat. This achievement signifies that as an organisation, our endeavours towards developing a truly indigenous brand with Indian R&D prowess to roll out Made in India electric vehicles are on track. HOP Electric Mobility closed a $ 2.6million strategic round as part of a $ 10 million pre-series fundraiser. The company has reached 130 retail touchpoints and will have over 6,200 road scooters by 2021. The company is aiming for a 10x increase in sales this year with the new funding. The HOP OXO was developed and designed in-house, according to Faster Adoption and Manufacture of EVs II norms.
