Okaya Mops Competitors With Low-Cost & Futuristic E-Scooter Debut

Okaya Electric Vehicle, an Indian EV startup, announced the launch of its high-speed e-scooter Faast at an initial price of Rs 89,999 at the EV Expo 21 in Greater Noida.

Okaya is all set to launch also its e-motorcycle Ferrato in the second quarter of FY22, which is also exhibited in the aunch. It will have a peak speed of 80-90 km/h and a range of up to 100 km on a single charge, with a 2-kilowatt motor and a 3-kilowatt battery.

Depending on use, the IoT-enabled e-scooter can cover 150 to 200 Km between charges and has an extreme speed of 60-70 km/h. According to the biz, it has a 4.4 kW lithium phosphate battery, a digital instrument cluster,  all LED lighting, daytime running lights, and a combi braking system.

“Okaya is completely committed to realizing the aim of making India a 100% EV nation,” said MD of Okaya Power Group, Anil Gupta.

He expressed that with this launch, the firm holds true to its commitment to fabricating innovative, low-cost but high-performance e-scooters to drive the nation’s shift to EVs. Faast has succeeded to strike the sweet spot in the market with its performance specs and features, directly defying its conventional fuel scooter peers.

Okaya has already established itself as a prominent participant in this area by developing the much-needed fast-charging infrastructure for these e-scooters, Gupta continued.

“Leading by example with completely made in India products rather than merely assembled in India products, Okaya has emerged as a market leader in the e-scooter industry across the country.”, the company said.

“With our proprietary ‘Okaya Faast e-scooters’ we are addressing the market’s tremendous need for high-performance EVs,” said Anshul Gupta, Director, Okaya Power Private Limited, while keeping up with evolving customer tastes.

The firm also stated that, in addition to focusing on introducing high-spec e-two wheelers, it is on course to become the fastest-growing domestic EV brand, having established over 225 dealers throughout the country in a span of 6 months.

Puran Singh Negi, AVP, Okaya EV, articulated that Okaya looks forward to gaining a significant portion of the market’s rising demand while fulfilling the promises to loyal clients by equipping them with ultra-modern Okaya Fast e-scooters.
