Lt Governor Manoj Sinha of Jammu and Kashmir said that the Union Territory will introduce electric busses in partnership with Olectra Greentech Ltd. In the presence of Chairman and Managing Director of Olectra Greentech Ltd KV Pradeep, this meeting was held in Jammu. The UT will cut back on fossil fuels and focus on sustainable mobility options.
600 electric buses will be deployed throughout the country. As we are moving forward towards an eco-friendly world, this change is necessary. Mr. Sinha requested the Olectra Chairman to ship 2 e-buses on a trial, one each for Srinagar and Jammu. Later, the future plan will be determined by the government.
Sinha said, “The federal government is dedicated to discover all the chances to remodel Jammu and Srinagar into fashionable, sustainable, and economically vibrant cities, and make Jammu and Srinagar, the superlative good cities of the nation.”
The central government has initiated the FAME-II scheme for the sale of electrical automobiles. The government also plans to launch 150-200 electric buses for greener, safer transportation.
