As part of its commitment to developing industry-leading green driving technologies, Yadea Technology Group Co., Ltd. (“Yadea”, 01585.HK), a leading brand in two-wheeled electric vehicles, announced that it will increase its research and development investment to at least $ 150 million in 2021.

Yadea’s continued investment in research and development comes at a time when environmental protection is the focus of global discussions. Earlier this year, the member states of the European Union (EU) set ambitious new targets to cut carbon dioxide emissions by at least 55 percent by 2030, and the UK followed suit with radical plans to cut carbon dioxide emissions by 78 percent by 2035. Large countries around the world have also set zero-emission vehicle targets to drive the shift to electric mobility. These trends have been boosted by the COVID-19 pandemic as more people choose alternative, environmentally friendly transportation solutions that limit contact with other people.

These changes in consumer behavior, coupled with increased funding for e-mobility and innovations in technology, are accelerating the development of the electric two-wheeler industry – causing Yadea to expand its R&D, manufacturing and product development advantages.

As the industry’s largest investor in research and development, Yadea has long been committed to developing leading-edge technologies. In 2020, the company had a library of 1,097 patents, including 85 invention patents; six industry-leading R&D centers, 2 national-level CNAS laboratories and an industrial design center.

As a result of its continued focus on product research and development, Yadea has made outstanding technical advances in the areas of power supply, battery management and intelligent systems.

The drive system of the electric scooter is equipped with an integrated, side-mounted motor and a soft pack lithium battery with a large capacity. This enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 50 km / h in 5.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 80 km / h, which means the ultimate driving experience.

Meanwhile, the advanced battery management system (BMS) improves performance, endurance and safety through nine safety functions, including overcurrent protection, overcharge protection, short circuit protection and more, guaranteeing the safety of the vehicle.

To make traveling smarter and meet the needs of modern mobility, Yadea’s series of electric scooters is equipped with a GPS precision positioning system and other intelligent features, including PKE Smart Lock technology, fault self-check, OTA updates and more .

“‘Electrify your Life’, our slogan, is easy to exclaim, but it actually requires a lot of effort to implement”, says Aska Zeng , General Manager of Yadea .

“With that as the starting point, Yadea, as an industry leader and pioneer, is well aware of the importance of research and development. Therefore, extensive measures were taken in the areas of innovation as well as research and development in order to pave the way to the goal. And based on our successes to date and positive feedback from our users around the world, we have reason to believe that we are moving in a solid and meaningful direction to electrify more aspects of life, “he added.

According to Zeng , Yadea will continue to accelerate its product iterations and technologies to bring the ultimate green transportation experience to consumers around the world.
