EV Motors India (EVM), a Delhi-based electric mobility and energy solutions provider has signed an agreement with BSES Yamuna Power (BYPL), a power distribution company in New Delhi to set up and operate charging stations for electric vehicles at selected locations under the jurisdiction of BYPL. The motto behind this is to establish and promote the e-mobility ecosystem in India,
EVM and BYPL under the agreement will work together to operate, to create and maintain charging infrastructure using PlugNgo’s innovative cloud-based integrated software platform and It will include a payment gateway for utilizing the electric charging facility.
“Charging infrastructure for EV vehicles is the need of the hour and we are working with strategic partners to facilitate setting-up of charging stations in East and Central Delhi to bring in a change in the mobility landscape. BYPL aims to reiterate our commitment towards sustainable growth, energy efficiency, and strengthen our commitment to play a significant role in the EV Sector through this association,” stated PR Kumar, CEO, BSES Yamuna Power.

BYPL is one of the major DISCOMs and it is a joint venture between Delhi government and Reliance Infrastructure. In east and central Delhi, it caters to the energy needs of 1.7 million customers while EVM offers its services in smart city integration, electric mobility, energy management, telematics, and data analytics is organizing an electric mobility landscape in the country including EV charging stations.
The company has established its public EV charging outlet under the brand ‘PlugNgo’ in DLF Cyber City, Gurugram. Over the next 5 years, it intends to install over 6,500 charging outlets in India, each with multiple charging stations that will be spread across businesses, residential complexes, and cities.
