Mahindra Plans To Reveal Sub-9 lakh EV At Auto Expo
Mahindra Electric plans to reveal a sub-9-lakh electric vehicle in the Auto Expo as it is aiming to increase its portfolio to a new segment. According to the Group Managing Director, Pawan Goenka, electric mobility is now the future and shared mobility is their current priority. Here the company is breaking the price barrier with the sub-9-lakh SUV, with the e-KUV. Till now, Mahindra has sold over 27,600 EV across the four & three-wheeler segment and plans to introduce Atom which would be India’s first electric quadricycle in the upcoming Auto Expo 2020.
Ashok Leyland And ABB Partner For Electric Buses
Ashok Leyland has issued a statement about its partnership with ABB Power Products and Systems India Limited in order to contribute to the e-mobility ecosystem. They have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which states that ABB will be providing the engineering, installation and commissioning of the TOSA charging system, while on the other hand Ashok Leyland will be providing with the manufacturing and supply of electric buses which are adoptive to the technology. The MoU defines the development of a pilot electric bus in which ABB will provide innovative flash-charge technology, TOSA. As promised by the company, the innovative technology charges the battery in seconds.
MG Motor India Installs 10 DC Chargers At Its Dealership
Recently, MG Motors has announced that they have installed 10 DC Electric Vehicle Chargers at its dealerships. The company also says that it is setting up a 5-step charging ecosystem that is aimed at fulfilling the needs of EV customers. This announcement came before the launch of electric SUV MG ZS EV that will compete with rivals like Hyundai Kona EV and Tata Nexon EV as well. Also, the company is also installing a network of DC fast chargers that can be used 24×7 by the customers.
2,636 EV Charging Stations Approved Under Fame II Program Across 24 States
The Department of Heavy Industries (DHI) has approved for 2,636 electric vehicle charging stations across 24 different states spread into 62 cities and union territories (UTs) under the second phase of FAME India (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India) program. As per the government they had received nearly 106 proposals from the public and private entities for the execution of 7,000 EV Charging stations. After an in-depth evaluation the government has approved for 2,636 EV Charging stations out of which 1,633 charging stations will be fast-charging stations and 1,003 are to be implemented as slow charging stations. Overall, there will be around 14,000 charging stations which are expected to be installed according to the government.
Gujarat Sets Up A Fast Charging Network For Electric Buses
Charge+Zone which is a start company in Vadodara, Gujarat has set up a fast-charging facility of CCS2 150 kW DC chargers to enable the e-mobility of electric buses. It is in plans to raise and invest ₹7.1 billion to install 1,000 electric vehicle charging stations across India in a time span of three years. The main component of this charging network is an indigenously built chargeCloud, an IoT (internet of things) enabled charging management system, which will help the fleet management and capture data on charger utilization as well as electricity consumption. Currently, it has more than 100 operational charging points for its various e-mobility clients.
EVI Technologies Invests Big, Aims For 20,000 Nodes Across The Country
EVI Technologies, an electric vehicle charging infrastructure provider plans to invest around Rs. 100 crore in the next 18-months. It is further aiming for 20,000 charging stations across the country, a senior company official said. India lacks electric vehicle charging infrastructure. A unique charger which automatically decides the charging rate, charging time-based on the temperature fed by the data in the system.These chargers can be installed at customer home once they pay the subsidy part of the total amount, while the remaining will be invested by the company. As per the recent policy announcement, there is a subsidy of Rs 6000 on each charger going up to Rs 30,000 based on the quantity of chargers.
Mercedes Planning on E-Car Debut In India
Mercedes-Benz plans to launch the company’s first fully-electric car in India. EQC mid-size SUV, the first of the multi-model green car line-up (EQ range) will be introduced globally over the next few years. Initially the company will import EQC to India, and it also plans on assembling its parts in its Pune factory. So far EQC has been launched in Japan, US, Germany, Korea, and China will be unveiled here later this month, before being finally launched around April.
Ather Energy’s Next Electric Scooter 450X
Ather Energy unveils its next electric scooter in India, the 450X. This new e-scooter will be based on Ather 450 e-scooter. As of now the company has not revealed any details. It has already started receiving booking of 450X. The Ather 450 offers a range of 65 km on a single charge, so you can expect the 450X to offer a bit more. The company is in plans to expand the network across different cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune. For now, it is selling the Ather 450 scooter in Bengaluru and Chennai only.
