Nissan has officially kicked off its ambitious “From China” export strategy with the global unveiling of the all-new Navara Pro Plug-in Hybrid pickup and the all-new Primera EV sedan at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).
The launch marks a significant milestone in Nissan’s global growth plans, positioning China as a key hub for innovation, product development, and vehicle exports. The strategy follows the company’s vision announcement in April, which highlighted China’s expanding role in enhancing Nissan’s global competitiveness.
Leading the showcase was the all-new Navara Pro Plug-in Hybrid, a rugged pickup designed to blend Nissan’s renowned 4×4 capabilities with electrified performance. Featuring a bold and assertive design, the model is aimed at customers seeking versatility for both work and lifestyle applications. The vehicle represents Nissan’s latest effort to introduce electrification into the pickup segment.
Also making its debut was the all-new Primera EV sedan, which features a sleek, streamlined exterior and a strong emphasis on premium comfort and advanced technology. The electric sedan offers a refined cabin experience with enhanced connectivity features, reflecting Nissan’s push toward more sophisticated and technology-focused mobility solutions.
The automaker noted that technical specifications and detailed performance information for both vehicles will be released closer to their market launch dates.
Commenting on the development, Guillaume Cartier, Nissan’s Chief Performance Officer, described China as a critical pillar in the company’s global strategy.
“As a lead market, China plays a dual role for Nissan, both as a strong market in its own right and a critical source of global competitiveness,” Cartier said. “This unveiling signals the beginning of our ‘From China’ export strategy, and I am pleased to see these vehicles reaching customers beyond China for the first time.”
He added that the new models demonstrate strong product competitiveness and will help strengthen Nissan’s global portfolio while enabling the company to respond more quickly to diverse customer needs.
In addition to the two new models, Nissan also previewed its electrified future in the Philippines by showcasing the all-new Kicks e-POWER and X-Trail e-POWER. Both vehicles feature Nissan’s proprietary e-POWER hybrid technology, which delivers an EV-like driving experience while maintaining the convenience of a conventional fuel-powered vehicle.
The unveiling underscores Nissan’s commitment to accelerating electrification and expanding the global reach of vehicles developed in China, with the Philippines becoming one of the first markets to experience the company’s new export-driven approach.
