Blue Energy Motors (BEM), a leading manufacturer of electric and LNG-powered heavy-duty trucks in India, has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 100 million kilometres of cumulative fleet operations across the country, highlighting the growing adoption of sustainable freight mobility solutions.

The company said the achievement reflects the rapid transformation underway in India’s logistics and transportation sector, driven by increasing fuel costs, corporate sustainability goals, and the nation’s long-term decarbonisation agenda.

With a fleet of more than 1,400 trucks operating on key freight corridors, Blue Energy Motors estimates it has helped prevent over 30,000 tonnes of carbon emissions, equivalent to the carbon absorption capacity of nearly 1.2 million trees.

The milestone underscores the rising demand for cleaner alternatives to conventional diesel-powered trucking. Blue Energy Motors has built an integrated ecosystem around electric and LNG heavy-duty trucks, supported by intelligent fleet management technology, energy infrastructure, and a nationwide service network.

Its LNG truck portfolio offers long-haul capabilities, with dual-tank variants capable of travelling up to 2,400 kilometres on a single fill. In the electric mobility segment, the company has developed corridor-based charging and battery-swapping infrastructure aimed at reducing range anxiety and minimising charging downtime for fleet operators.

The company’s Energy-as-a-Service model is designed to lower upfront capital costs for customers while improving operational efficiency and vehicle utilisation. Its battery-swapping technology allows depleted batteries to be replaced in under five minutes, helping maximise productivity for commercial fleets operating on high-mileage routes.

Commenting on the achievement, Anirudh Bhuwalka, Founder and Managing Director of Blue Energy Motors, said the milestone demonstrates the increasing acceptance of green-fuel trucking in India.

“Crossing 100 million kilometres is a strong validation of where the future of freight mobility is headed. A few years ago, green-fuel trucking was still seen as an emerging idea. Today, fleet operators are actively looking at cleaner solutions that make sense not only from a sustainability perspective, but also operationally and commercially,” he said.

Bhuwalka added that recent volatility in global energy markets has reinforced the need for businesses to reduce their dependence on diesel.

“Energy security, operating economics, and sustainability are no longer separate conversations. They are converging into a single business decision. We believe the next five years will witness one of the fastest transformations in the history of India’s trucking industry,” he said.

As India’s commercial vehicle sector moves toward cleaner transportation at scale, Blue Energy Motors is positioning itself as both a truck manufacturer and a long-term enabler of sustainable freight mobility.
