General Motors announced that Cadillac has surpassed 100,000 electric vehicle sales in the United States, marking a significant milestone in the luxury automaker’s transition toward an all-electric future.
The achievement comes nearly four years after the launch of the Cadillac LYRIQ, the brand’s first all-electric SUV, which helped establish Cadillac as one of the fastest-growing luxury EV brands in the country.
Duncan Aldred, President of GM North America, said the milestone reflects years of coordinated efforts across engineering, manufacturing, sales, marketing, and dealership operations.
“What’s especially exciting is who is choosing Cadillac EVs,” Aldred noted. “Across LYRIQ, OPTIQ, VISTIQ, and ESCALADE IQ, roughly three-quarters of buyers are new to Cadillac.”
The company revealed that many customers are switching from rival luxury brands including Tesla, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, and Lexus, highlighting Cadillac’s growing appeal in the premium EV segment.
Cadillac’s EV portfolio has gained strong industry recognition in recent years. The brand has received awards and accolades from MotorTrend, J.D. Power, Car & Driver, and WardsAuto for advancements in design, technology, and safety. Earlier this year, Fast Company named Cadillac among the “Most Innovative Companies in Automotive” for 2026.
GM also pointed to rising consumer loyalty within the EV market. According to the company, customers who transition to electric vehicles are increasingly likely to purchase another EV in the future, reinforcing confidence in long-term market growth.
The automaker recently expanded its electric lineup with performance-oriented models such as the LYRIQ-V and OPTIQ-V, further strengthening its presence in the luxury EV category.
Beyond vehicle sales, Cadillac has been investing heavily in brand visibility through global partnerships and events, including the Cadillac Formula 1 Team and the return of the Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral’s Blue Monster course.
Aldred emphasized that the company’s focus now shifts toward sustaining momentum and attracting even more customers with advanced technologies such as Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance and premium ownership experiences.
“Now, it’s on to the next 100,000,” he said, signaling Cadillac’s ambition to further expand its footprint in the rapidly evolving electric mobility market.
