Greaves Electric Mobility Limited, the e-mobility arm of Greaves Cotton Limited, has announced the launch of its upgraded electric scooter, the Ampere Magnus Neo, aimed at enhancing comfort, accessibility, and ease of use for daily commuters.

Introduced under the Ampere brand, the new Magnus Neo variant has been engineered with a focus on rider ergonomics and smoother handling. The scooter features a lightweight design for improved manoeuvrability and a 10-inch rear tyre to ensure better balance and control, particularly suited for urban riding conditions.

According to Managing Director Vikas Singh, the launch aligns with the company’s commitment to practical electric mobility solutions. He emphasized that comfort and ease of rideability remain central to the brand’s philosophy, whether for short commutes or longer journeys. The Magnus Neo, he added, is designed to meet real-world riding needs while making electric mobility more accessible to a broader audience.

The updated model introduces several ergonomic enhancements, including a lower seat height of 777 mm and a reduced kerb weight of 103 kg. These changes aim to improve rider posture, ground reach, and handling—especially in congested, stop-and-go traffic. Additionally, a new wheel and motor configuration promises smoother acceleration and improved stability across varied road conditions.

Visually, the scooter is offered in four contemporary colour options—Mystic Mauve, Butter Yellow, Ocean Blue, and Matcha Green—targeting modern urban riders seeking both style and functionality.

Built on the proven Magnus Neo platform, the scooter continues to deliver durability and reliability. The platform previously set a national record for the “Longest Journey by a City-Speed Family Electric Scooter,” covering over 2,300 km from Bengaluru to Delhi. It also features a dual-frame chassis, 158 mm ground clearance tailored for Indian roads, and advanced braking systems for enhanced safety.

Powering the Magnus Neo is an advanced LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery, known for its durability and safety. The battery offers up to twice the lifecycle compared to conventional options, potentially lasting up to 10 years. It has also been tested under extreme temperature conditions ranging from -40°C to 60°C, underscoring its suitability for diverse Indian climates.

Priced starting at ₹86,999, the Ampere Magnus Neo aims to strengthen the company’s presence in India’s growing electric two-wheeler market.

With over 17 years of experience in electric vehicle design and manufacturing, Greaves Electric Mobility continues to expand its portfolio, contributing to India’s transition toward sustainable and accessible transportation solutions.
