Toyota Motor Corporation has launched the new bZ4X Touring battery electric vehicle (BEV) in Japan, expanding its bZ electric lineup with a model focused on driving performance, spaciousness, and outdoor-oriented usability.
The bZ4X Touring builds on the strengths of the original bZ4X, offering strong acceleration, off-road capability, and long cruising range while introducing significantly increased cargo capacity and enhanced practicality for family and leisure use. Toyota said customer feedback highlighted growing demand for utility-focused electric vehicles to support outdoor activities and long-distance travel.
The new model offers approximately 1.4 times more luggage space than the standard bZ4X, with a luggage capacity of up to 619 litres and up to 1,240 litres with rear seats folded. It is designed to accommodate active lifestyles, with features such as roof rails, skid plates, and outdoor-inspired interior and exterior styling.
Toyota said the bZ4X Touring achieves a class-leading driving range of up to 734 km (WLTC mode) and supports rapid charging from 10% to 80% in around 28 minutes, even in cold conditions. The 4WD variant delivers 0–100 km/h acceleration in 4.6 seconds and features Toyota’s X-MODE system for improved traction and stability on rough terrain.
The vehicle measures 4,830 mm in length and offers a spacious cabin with a 14-inch center display, wireless smartphone integration, and comprehensive driver assistance systems under the Toyota Safety Sense suite. Advanced features include traffic congestion support and remote parking assistance through Toyota Teammate technologies.
Toyota said the bZ4X Touring will be available in multiple configurations, with prices starting at ¥5.75 million for the front-wheel-drive variant and ¥6.4 million for the four-wheel-drive version. The model will also be offered through Toyota’s KINTO subscription service from April 2026.
The company reiterated its commitment to carbon neutrality through a multi-pathway approach, expanding electrified powertrain options tailored to diverse customer needs. Toyota said it will continue developing BEVs, hybrids, and other mobility solutions under its new brand philosophy of “to you,” focusing on personalized mobility for customers worldwide.
