Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of the all-new Nissan GRAVITE, a seven-seater multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), in the Indian market, marking a key milestone in the company’s expansion strategy in the country. Manufactured locally in Chennai, the GRAVITE is priced at an introductory ₹5.65 lakh, positioning it as an affordable and family-oriented vehicle in the competitive C-SUV/MPV segment.

The name “GRAVITE” is inspired by India’s diverse population of 1.4 billion people and reflects Nissan’s focus on building a versatile and practical vehicle tailored for Indian families. The company said the GRAVITE is designed to combine comfort, spaciousness, and everyday practicality for both city commuting and weekend travel.

Nissan stated that the GRAVITE builds on the momentum of the Magnite SUV, which is exported from India to global markets, and will be followed by an expanded product lineup including the Tekton C-SUV planned for mid-2026 and another seven-seater C-SUV expected in early 2027.

He noted that the GRAVITE launch marks the beginning of a sustained growth phase for Nissan in India, supported by local manufacturing, network expansion, and a future-focused product roadmap.

In terms of design, the GRAVITE features elevated proportions, muscular body lines, pronounced wheel arches, and high ground clearance, giving it a strong road presence suited for Indian driving conditions. Exterior highlights include a piano black grille, signature C-shaped design elements, LED headlamps with DRLs, LED taillamps, roof rails, and wide-opening doors for enhanced practicality.

Inside, the GRAVITE offers flexible seating for up to seven occupants, with removable third-row seats expanding luggage space to 625 litres. The cabin is designed for tropical conditions with ample storage and an efficient air-conditioning system for passenger comfort.

The vehicle is equipped with a 20.3 cm floating infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, a 17.7 cm digital instrument cluster, auto-locking doors, and front and rear parking sensors. Safety features include more than 30 standard safety technologies, such as Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, Brake Assist, and ABS with EBD.

For a limited period, Nissan will also offer a GRAVITE Launch Edition with exclusive styling elements, premium audio, and enhanced interior features, targeting early adopters in the Indian market.

The launch underscores Nissan’s renewed commitment to India as a manufacturing and growth hub, as the company aims to strengthen its presence in the affordable family vehicle segment.
