VinFast Philippines, along with partners V-Green Charging Station Development Philippines Inc. and Green and Smart Mobility Philippines Inc. (Green GSM), has entered into a strategic partnership with BDO Unibank Inc. to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility in the Philippines.
The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), aims to make EVs more accessible while expanding supporting infrastructure and financing options. VinFast, a subsidiary of Vietnam’s Vingroup JSC, will leverage BDO’s wide-ranging financial solutions—from consumer banking and leasing to insurance—to create tailored financing programs for Filipino customers and businesses.
“This partnership allows us to empower Filipinos with greater access to EVs while shaping a smarter, greener, and more livable urban future,” said Ms. Duong Thi Thu Trang, Deputy CEO of Global Sales, VinFast.
Key initiatives under the partnership include:
- V-Green’s charging station rollout at SM Supermalls, Alfamart branches, schools, and other BDO–SM ecosystem locations.
- Green GSM’s expansion of the Philippines’ first all-electric taxi fleet, already integrated with BDO’s digital banking platform since June 2025.
- BDO’s financial and institutional support to develop EV ecosystems and promote sustainable fleet and infrastructure growth.
“Charging infrastructure is essential for EV adoption,” noted Mr. Nguyen Thanh Duong, CEO of V-Green, while Mr. Dao Quy Phi, CEO of Green GSM, emphasized the role of the partnership in building a cleaner, safer public transport system.
BDO Unibank’s Executive Vice President Charles M. Rodriguez underscored the bank’s role in supporting the broader adoption of EVs, saying: “By providing the right financial solutions, we are enabling businesses to drive a future-ready transport sector.”
Together, the four partners aim to create a comprehensive EV ecosystem in the Philippines—from manufacturing and distribution to charging infrastructure and electric taxi services—aligning with the country’s long-term sustainability and mobility goals.
