U Power Limited, a electric vehicle battery-swapping solutions provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Beijing Foton International Trade Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Foton Motor—one of China’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers.
Under the MOU, the two companies will collaborate to promote battery-swapping-enabled electric heavy trucks, buses, and vans in key international markets, including Southeast Asia, South America, Hong Kong SAR, and Macau SAR. U Power will offer technical support for integrating battery-swapping systems into Foton vehicles, help develop and test battery-swapping stations, and connect vehicles to its battery-bank ecosystem.Johnny Lee, CEO and Chairman of U Power commented, “This partnership marks another significant step forward in our strategy of expanding OEM partner base. Beijing Foton will contribute by collecting and sharing vehicle performance data, including battery charging patterns, health, and capacity metrics. The MOU also opens the door for broader collaboration between the two companies in future smart energy and mobility projects.
