Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), India’s leading passenger vehicle manufacturer, has achieved a milestone by exporting a record 3,32,585 units in the financial year 2024-25. This marks a significant 17.5% increase from the previous year’s 2,83,067 units, reinforcing the company’s dominance in overseas markets.

For the fourth consecutive year, Maruti Suzuki has retained its position as India’s number one passenger vehicle exporter, contributing nearly 43% of the country’s total vehicle exports. The top-selling export models included the Fronx, Jimny, Baleno, Swift, and Dzire, with key markets spanning South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Japan, and Mexico.

MD & CEO of Maruti Suzuki, Hisashi Takeuchi, hailed the achievement as a testament to India’s growing stature as a global manufacturing hub. “Aligned with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ vision, we have set a new benchmark in exports. The overwhelming response to Fronx and Jimny 5-door in Japan further strengthens our global footprint,” he said.

Maruti Suzuki is now gearing up for the next phase of expansion with the global launch of its first strategic Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), the e-VITARA. Announced at the Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo, the company will commence exports of the e-VITARA in FY 2025-26 to around 100 countries, including Europe and Japan.

This milestone underscores Maruti Suzuki’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and global expansion, further bolstering India’s reputation as a key player in the global automotive industry.
