The BMW Group solidified its position as a leader in premium mobility in 2024, delivering 426,594 fully-electric vehicles (BEVs) worldwide—a remarkable 13.5% year-over-year growth. This achievement underscores the company’s commitment to electrification amid challenging global market conditions.
Both the BMW and MINI brands saw double-digit growth in BEV sales, with BMW delivering 368,523 units (+11.6%) and MINI contributing 56,181 units (+24.3%). Rolls-Royce also posted an impressive milestone, with BEV deliveries surging by 479.6% to 1,890 units.
Global Performance Highlights
In 2024, the BMW Group delivered a total of 2,450,804 vehicles globally, meeting its revised sales target despite market challenges, including delivery stops related to the Integrated Brake System (IBS) and subdued demand in China. Electrified vehicles accounted for 24.2% of total sales, with fully-electric vehicles making up 17.4%.
Regional Performance:
- Europe: The region recorded a modest growth of 0.6% year-over-year, with notable double-digit sales increases in Italy, France, and the UK.
- Americas: Sales rose by 5.8% in Q4 and 0.2% year-over-year, with the US market growing by 6.5% in Q4.
- Asia: Sales were down 10.2% year-over-year, with China experiencing a 13.4% decline due to economic challenges.
Milestones Across BMW Brands
- BMW Brand: Delivered 2,200,177 vehicles worldwide (-2.3%) and maintained its position as the global leader in its segment. The brand saw BEV growth in Germany, even amidst a declining market for electric vehicles.
- BMW M GmbH: Achieved a record-breaking 206,582 deliveries (+2.1%), marking an all-time high.
- MINI: Sold 244,915 units globally (-17.1%) but nearly doubled its BEV sales in Q4 with 29,698 units.
- Rolls-Royce: Delivered 5,712 units (-5.3%), with BEVs driving growth in the ultra-luxury segment.
- BMW Motorrad: Set a new record with 210,408 motorcycles and scooters sold (+0.6%).
