LG Electronics has unveiled its latest innovation for the automotive industry, the Digital Cockpit gamma, as part of its Mobility Labworks Series. The new model, which follows last year’s alpha and beta versions, represents a leap forward in vehicle technology, delivering a sophisticated suite of modular solutions that enhance in-car connectivity, user experience, and customization for automakers.

The Digital Cockpit gamma features three modular systems: Vision Display, Intelligent Human-Machine Interface (HMI), and Connectivity & Content—each designed to elevate both driver and passenger experiences. With this addition, LG aims to redefine in-car convenience and connectivity, paving the way for a future of mobility centered on seamless integration and user adaptability.

Vision Display: Revolutionizing Automotive Interiors

One highlight of the Digital Cockpit gamma is the Vision Display module, equipped with a 12.3-inch Transparent OLED screen and a 14.2-inch retractable Plastic OLED (P-OLED) display. These adaptive screens are designed to deliver real-time navigation, vehicle speed, and points of interest (POI) while offering a sleek, minimalist look for the cabin. Ideal for autonomous driving environments, the Vision Display introduces a new level of interaction and immersion within vehicle interiors.

Intelligent HMI: AI-Driven Interaction at Its Best

The Intelligent Human-Machine Interface (HMI) solution brings AI-driven features and responsive touch technology into the driver’s hands. Integrated within a curved OLED steering wheel display, the HMI provides easy navigation, climate control, and multimedia settings with haptic feedback for tactile interaction. The HMI’s AI-based virtual assistant can even detect driver fatigue, allowing for services like nearby coffee ordering and fingerprint-enabled payments.

Connectivity & Content: An Entertainment Hub for Passengers

The Connectivity & Content solution transforms the rear passenger seats into a high-tech entertainment center. Utilizing 5G network connectivity and LG’s webOS platform, passengers can stream high-definition content, access live broadcasts, and use hand gestures to control volume and other features. This solution also supports ride-sharing apps, further demonstrating LG’s commitment to enhancing the modern in-car experience.

Eun Seok-hyun, president of LG Vehicle Component Solutions Company, shared his vision: “Digital Cockpit gamma demonstrates LG’s leadership in cutting-edge in-vehicle innovations and our dedication to creating working concepts of transformative technologies for future commercialization in the automotive industry. We will continue to provide customizable vehicle solutions that enhance the in-car experience, ensuring seamless connectivity and a smarter, safer on-road environment.”

With the Digital Cockpit gamma, LG continues to advance its position as a leader in automotive innovation, delivering adaptable, high-tech solutions that promise to shape the future of driving and passenger experience.
