Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) has announced its participation in the upcoming Japan Mobility Show Bizweek 2024, taking place from October 15 to October 18 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture. The event will serve as a platform for the mobility industry and startups to collaborate toward the goal of a sustainable future. Toyota will showcase its cutting-edge technologies aimed at achieving carbon neutrality, with a focus on hydrogen solutions and renewable energy management.
Japan’s energy challenges, compounded by its limited land and resources, underscore the importance of the mobility sector in spearheading the nation’s efforts toward sustainability. Toyota is set to highlight its multi-pathway approach to achieving carbon neutrality, which includes innovations in hydrogen technology and renewable energy management. The company will foster co-creation with startups and other industry players, aiming to drive technological innovation and contribute to a sustainable energy future.
Among Toyota’s exhibits will be the Liquid Hydrogen-Powered GR Corolla, which has competed in endurance races globally. This vehicle, powered by liquid hydrogen, represents Toyota’s continued efforts to refine automotive performance through motorsports while advancing carbon-neutral technologies.
Another key highlight is the introduction of Toyota’s Portable Hydrogen Cartridge, marking its first display in Japan. Designed for ease of use, these cartridges aim to bring hydrogen power into everyday life, making hydrogen a more familiar and accessible energy source. Toyota will also showcase a hydrogen-powered cooker developed in collaboration with Rinnai Corporation, exemplifying the practical applications of portable hydrogen technology.
Further demonstrating its commitment to sustainable energy solutions, Toyota will exhibit its Sweep Energy Storage System, developed in partnership with JERA Corporation. This innovative system repurposes used batteries from electrified vehicles, optimizing their remaining energy capacity for renewable energy applications. By supporting a circular economy and renewable energy integration, the system addresses the need for a stable electricity supply.
Through its participation in the Japan Mobility Show, Toyota seeks to forge new partnerships and expand its sustainability efforts, working with startups and companies to accelerate the transition toward a carbon-neutral society.
