As Labor Day weekend sees a surge in travel, with domestic trips up 9% compared to last year, Ford Motor Company has revealed some impressive hands-free highway driving trends. This year, Ford and Lincoln owners embraced BlueCruise, the company’s innovative hands-free driving technology, more during Labor Day than any other holiday in 2023, surpassing Thanksgiving by 8.15%.

Paula Twidale, Senior VP of AAA Travel, highlighted Labor Day’s popularity for regional road trips, and BlueCruise users seemed to agree. BlueCruise-equipped vehicles, including the F-150, Mustang Mach-E, and Lincoln models, navigated U.S. highways hands-free, with California, Texas, and Florida leading the charge as the top states for BlueCruise trips.

Ford’s data also shows that 77% of BlueCruise trips were short, lasting under 20 minutes, yet for longer road trips on highways, the system was used over half the time, enhancing both daily commutes and extended drives.

BlueCruise is transforming the driving experience, with users like Peter L., an F-150 Lightning owner, praising it for turning monotonous drives into enjoyable journeys. For those looking to explore, Ford reports that 97% of U.S. and Canadian highways are BlueCruise-ready.

As travelers hit the road this Labor Day, BlueCruise stands out as a revolutionary feature, making hands-free driving a convenient option for both short and long trips across America.
