ZS EV’s Popularity Soars, Leading To A 95% Increase In Sales For JSW MG Motor India

JSW MG Motor India has reached a significant milestone in its New Energy Vehicle (NEV) journey with the ZS EV, India’s first Pure-Electric Internet SUV, achieving its highest monthly sales to date. In Q2 2024, ZS EV sales skyrocketed by 95% compared to Q1 2024, showcasing its increasing popularity among Indian EV buyers. In June, electric vehicles represented 40% of the company’s total sales, underscoring the growing demand for MG EVs and greater customer acceptance, particularly of the ZS EV.

JSW MG Motor India’s NEV sales in June saw a 21% year-on-year increase, reinforcing its strategic focus on this category. Overall, the company’s NEV segment grew by 39% in Q2 2024 compared to Q1 2024, highlighting the accelerating adoption of its electric vehicles. The company remains committed to investing in advanced technology and NEV infrastructure to support a greener future, focusing on delivering cutting-edge NEVs that prioritize efficiency, performance, and sustainability.

“Our focus on expanding our electric vehicle portfolio is yielding positive results, as evidenced by the strong sales performance of MG EVs,” said Satinder Bajwa, Chief Commercial Officer of JSW MG Motor India. “Our strong sales of new energy vehicles demonstrate our dedication to driving sustainable transportation. We are devoted to aiding the transition to electric vehicles in India and offering our customers innovative and eco-friendly transportation solutions,” he added.

Beyond impressive sales figures, JSW MG Motor India is solidifying its position as a leader in India’s NEV market and contributing to the country’s EV infrastructure. With 6-way charging and ecosystem partners, the company has installed over 15,000 charging touchpoints nationwide, including public and home chargers.

The automaker focuses on introducing a suite of technology-enabled, futuristic automobile products, including intelligent connected internal combustion engine (ICE) and NEVs in India. Additionally, the company is planning battery assembly at its plant, along with cell manufacturing and a significant production ramp-up with extensive localization.
