In a significant stride towards promoting sustainable farming practices in India, NACOF Oorja, a prominent Renewable Energy developer and operator supported by NACOF, has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative. The launch of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), E ASTRA NACOF OORJA Pvt Ltd, marks a pivotal moment in the quest to make cultivation a profitable and eco-friendly endeavor.

The newly-established SPV is poised to serve as NACOF Oorja’s agricultural mobility wing, catering to the needs of Indian farmers by offering an array of battery-operated equipment and vehicles. These specialized offerings include the E-Weeder, E-Reaper, E-Brush cutter, and E-Cargo multi-utility 3 wheeler, designed to revolutionize agricultural practices with clean energy solutions. Additionally, the SPV introduces a 20-litre Milking Cum Chiller unit, a novel innovation aimed at promoting sustainable dairy farming practices.

Shri Ram Iqbal Singh, Chairman of NACOF OORJA, outlined the company’s vision behind the SPV, emphasizing its commitment to contribute to India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation. Singh underscored the pivotal role of farmers in society, labeling them as the “Annadata” or providers of sustenance, and stressed the importance of equipping them with indigenous, affordable, and cutting-edge agricultural equipment powered by clean energy.

Echoing similar sentiments, Shri Suresh Babu P, Managing Director of NACOF OORJA, reiterated the imperative of sustainable agriculture in the current landscape. He highlighted the SPV’s mission to empower Indian farmers with superior technology, thereby enhancing productivity and ensuring farming remains a viable source of income. The SPV aims to mechanize agricultural efforts, aligning them with the latest practices and technologies to boost efficiency and yield.

The agricultural offerings introduced by the SPV are proudly designed and manufactured domestically, aligning seamlessly with the government’s Make in India initiative. This strategic move underscores NACOF Oorja’s commitment to supporting India’s agricultural community while promoting indigenous technologies and fostering self-reliance.

The launch of E ASTRA NACOF OORJA Pvt Ltd comes hot on the heels of NACOF Oorja’s Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Nashik-based electric mobility startup. This partnership, focused on enhancing rural and agricultural mobility, signifies NACOF Oorja’s expanding footprint in India’s agricultural sector, reinforcing its commitment to driving sustainable innovation in farming practices.

As India grapples with the imperative need for sustainable agriculture to ensure food security and mitigate environmental impact, initiatives like E ASTRA NACOF OORJA Pvt Ltd represent a crucial step towards achieving these goals. By harnessing the power of clean energy and indigenous technologies, NACOF Oorja is poised to revolutionize the agricultural landscape, empowering farmers and fostering a greener, more prosperous future for India’s agrarian communities.
