The Delegation of the European Union to India, in collaboration with The Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, has announced an Expression of Interest (EOI) for start-ups and SMEs operating in the EU specializing in Electric Vehicle Battery Recycling Technologies. This initiative falls under the umbrella of the EU-India Trade and Technology Council (TTC).

Start-ups and SMEs from the EU are invited to participate in a matchmaking event where they can pitch their innovative ventures. Winners of the event will have the opportunity to embark on an exploration trip to India. To be eligible, applicants must be legal entities established in a European Union Member State.

This call for start-ups aligns with a parallel initiative organized by the O/o PSA, which is scouting and selecting start-ups from India to participate in a joint matchmaking event with companies and investors interested in the battery recycling sector.

Benefits of the Programme:

  1. Validation of solutions for application in the Indian market.
  2. Opportunity to pitch to stakeholders from the Battery Recycling Ecosystem in India.
  3. Matchmaking with solution adopters, influencers, policymakers, and potential clients in the Battery Recycling Ecosystem in India. Six start-ups will be selected for the matchmaking event.
  4. Three start-ups from the six selected will be chosen to visit Electric Vehicle battery recycling facilities in India and meet with stakeholders, receiving financial support for travel and subsistence.
  5. Access and insight into the broader EV landscape of India.
