In India, Nissan Motor is anticipated to introduce new SUVs along with an electric vehicle in its upcoming lineup. The automaker disclosed its global plan to unveil 30 new vehicles during this period, with 16 of them being electric.

During the launch event of ‘The Arc’, Nissan’s latest business strategy for global markets, the company outlined its roadmap for India, aiming to debut three entirely new models and establish itself as an export hub, targeting a volume of 100,000 units. Nissan intends to capitalize on its alliance with Renault and Mitsubishi Motors across Europe, LATAM, ASEAN, and India.

In 2022, Nissan Motor showcased three new models in India, including the new X-Trail SUV, which has been spotted undergoing testing on Indian roads. The X-Trail was previously part of Nissan’s lineup in India a decade ago before being discontinued.

Alongside the X-Trail, Nissan also exhibited the Qashqai and Juke SUVs, all of which are under consideration for the Indian market. However, there have been no further updates or timelines provided for the launch of these models since their showcase.

Nissan is poised to reintroduce at least two previously discontinued models in India, including the X-Trail. Additionally, the Kicks SUV, which recently debuted in a refreshed version, is likely to make a comeback. Originally launched in India in 2019, the Kicks SUV’s return aligns with Renault’s plan to reintroduce the Duster SUV in India, as both models share similar platforms.

Upon its relaunch, the Kicks SUV is expected to compete with popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara in the compact SUV segment.
